How to use the journal

Read one chapter, then keep notes for several ordinary days. Record timing, severity, fluids, caffeine, sleep, sitting, movement, stress and anything unusual. Bring the summary — not assumptions — to a clinician if symptoms persist.

If you cannot urinate, or urinary symptoms occur with fever and chills, do not wait to complete a diary.
